District by Zomato has partnered with Etihad Arena, the UAE’s flagship indoor entertainment venue, to make it easier for global audiences to discover and access live events on Yas Island – from concerts to sports to large-scale entertainment experiences.
The tie-up brings Etihad Arena’s event calendar directly onto District’s going-out platform, which already lets users explore dining, attractions and entertainment in one place. For Etihad Arena, it means a new discovery layer alongside its existing ticketing ecosystem; for District, it’s a foothold in one of the region’s biggest live-entertainment venues as the app expands its footprint beyond India.
The companies frame it as a response to how consumers actually plan nights out now – dining, entertainment and social plans have become one seamless decision, not three separate ones. By plugging events into that existing browsing journey, they’re betting on fewer drop-offs between “discovering” a show and actually buying a ticket.
Marcus Osborne, General Manager at Etihad Arena, called it a step toward reaching new global audiences and supporting Abu Dhabi’s broader tourism push. Kunal Khambhati, Founder & COO – Events at District by Zomato, described the arena as one of the region’s most exciting live entertainment destinations, calling the partnership a milestone in District’s push to redefine live events discovery.
With Yas Island positioning itself as a global entertainment hub, this partnership is as much about tourism strategy as ticketing – using discovery-led commerce to convert browsing into footfall.
