Warner Bros. Pictures Animation Rolls Out New Studio Logo

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation (WBPA) has unveiled a new studio logo and opening sequence at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, presented alongside its 2026-2028 theatrical line-up.

The refreshed identity replaces the studio’s previous glossy, textured shield with a finish inspired by traditional hand-painted animation. Tweety Pie now flies alongside the shield, while the “Animation” wordmark has moved below the logo in a simple script typeface.

The new opening sequence functions as a mini origin story, with the studio’s signature water tower shifting through changing colours as the scene unfolds like a hand-drawn sketch gradually filling in with paint. The old gold, glossy logo appears briefly before dissolving into the new matte version, positioning the rebrand as a deliberate celebration of the animation craft itself rather than a CGI-driven showcase.

Alongside the identity refresh, WBPA confirmed its upcoming slate, led by The Cat in the Hat, marking the studio’s theatrical debut this November 2026. Other titles in development include Tom & Jerry, Thundercats, Meerkats, Bad Fairies, and an original musical, Prehistoria, from creator Vivienne Medrano. The studio also premiered its Looney Tunes short, Daffy Season, at the event.

The new logo will formally debut on-screen with The Cat in the Hat’s theatrical release this November.
