PUMA’s ‘Meditation in Motion’ Finds Stillness in the Run, Featuring 40 Buddhist Monks

PUMA India has launched “Meditation in Motion,” a campaign featuring 40 Buddhist monks ahead of the Ladakh Marathon, scheduled from September 10 to 13.

Shot at Thiksey Monastery in Leh, the campaign draws a parallel between meditation and running through six visual frames, featuring monks in traditional robes set against the monastery and Ladakh’s landscape, paired with PUMA’s Deviate NITRO running shoes. The idea anchoring the campaign: both practices, though different in form, demand focus, discipline, and presence.

As the Ladakh Marathon’s exclusive sportswear partner, PUMA said its involvement with the race shaped the campaign’s focus on the mental resilience required for high-altitude running. At the centre of the creative is the PUMA Deviate PURE NITRO shoe, built with NITROFOAM cushioning, engineered mesh, and PUMAGRIP traction, designed for running without a carbon plate.

Ramprasad Sridharan, Managing Director, PUMA India, said the campaign captures “the less visible side of running” – the mindset that emerges when distance and distraction fade away.

The marathon includes the 122-km Silk Route Ultra, climbing from Nubra Valley’s 10,700 feet to Khardung La Pass at 17,618 feet. PUMA will provide race-day tees across categories, with Ultra participants receiving jackets, thermals, arm sleeves, beanies, and caps.
