Avvatar Bets on Protein Chips to Push Parag Milk Foods Beyond Dairy

Parag Milk Foods has expanded its Avvatar nutrition portfolio into snacking with the launch of Avvatar Popped Chips, moving the brand beyond its existing lineup of protein powders, ready-to-drink beverages and bars into a more everyday consumption format.

The popped, non-fried chips come in Magic Masala and Pudina variants, with each 30g pack delivering 10g of protein at a price of Rs 60. The product is positioned as a cleaner snacking option, free of added sugar, palm oil and preservatives.

Availability spans Avvatar’s own website, quick-commerce platforms, vending machines, and both general and modern trade, signalling an intent to make the product widely accessible rather than restricting it to a niche nutrition audience.

Akshali Shah, executive director at Parag Milk Foods, said the launch marks a meaningful step in the company’s shift from a dairy-led business to a broader nutrition-led food company. She added that the move builds on the company’s dairy and protein expertise, extending it into categories more aligned with how consumers eat today, and framed the snacking entry as part of a larger ambition to create a holistic protein ecosystem spanning nutrition, convenience and accessibility across formats and lifestyles. She noted that entering snacking isn’t just a portfolio extension but a strategic push toward building a more contemporary food and nutrition business anchored in protein.

The launch falls under Parag Milk Foods’ New Age Business vertical, with Avvatar serving as the brand’s vehicle to expand across nutrition and adjacent food categories.
