Spotify has launched ‘Roz ke kaam fun banao, Spotify Chalao,’ a campaign centred on how music makes routine tasks more enjoyable. The campaign comprises eight films across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bhojpuri, each showing people leaning into music while going about everyday activities like ironing clothes, washing dishes, mopping and even fixing a lightbulb.
One film plays on a husband mistaking his wife’s repeated “Aha!” as praise for his new hairstyle, only to realise she’s actually ironing clothes while singing along to a song. Another follows a roommate washing dishes with unexpected enthusiasm, fully immersed in the music playing in the background.
The campaign draws on research commissioned by Spotify, which found that 97% of its Indian users feel the platform makes mundane activities more enjoyable, 98% consider it essential to their daily routine, and 71% say it helps them feel relaxed. Shipra Srivastava, head of marketing at Spotify India, said music has a way of changing the texture of a moment regardless of language or task, pointing to everyday chores like cleaning, ironing and fixing a lightbulb as moments that are already, in essence, music moments for millions of listeners. She added that the campaign is rooted in that quiet, everyday relationship users already have with music.
The campaign also leans on Spotify’s growing footprint in Indian music, with its latest Loud & Clear report noting nearly 335 billion streams of Indian artists in 2025, accounting for over 20 billion listening hours, alongside sharp royalty growth across Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil music.
