Rasika Dugal Puts Ginger Garlic Paste to the Thick-or-Watery Test for Smith & Jones

Smith & Jones, the packaged food brand from Tata Consumer Products, has launched a new campaign featuring actor Rasika Dugal to help consumers understand what to look for when choosing ginger garlic paste. Conceptualised by The Womb, the campaign uses a simple visual demonstration to separate a thick, consistent paste from a watery one.

The idea responds to a category crowded with choices, where consumer awareness of what sets one paste apart from another remains limited. By making the difference visible, the film helps shoppers make more informed decisions. Its central message is captured in the line “Ho Gaya Na Paste Ka Paste Aur Paani Ka Paani.”

Deepika Bhan, President of Packaged Foods, Capital Foods & Soulfull at Tata Consumer Products, said trying new recipes and experimenting with ingredients can feel intimidating. She said Smith & Jones wants to make it simple, and that the campaign reflects the same belief.

Heval Patel, COO of The Womb, described Smith & Jones as the category leader in a segment often treated as a commodity. He saw an opportunity to start a conversation about how to identify a good paste that delivers rich, consistent taste. The film sits under the brand promise “Taste Gajab” and shows how the right paste forms the base for incredibly tasty dishes.
