Supertails’ ‘No Bang Diwali’ Turns the Tables to Highlight Pets’ Festive Fears

The campaign uses humour and an unexpected role reversal to show how fireworks can affect pets, encouraging households to celebrate with greater consideration for animals.

Pet care platform Supertails has launched ‘No Bang Diwali’, a festive campaign that takes a humorous approach to raising awareness about the impact of fireworks on pets.

Released on Instagram ahead of Diwali under the hashtag #NoBangDiwali, the campaign film flips a familiar sight during the festive season. Instead of pets seeking shelter under beds, tables and sofas to escape loud noises, it places an entire family under a table, eating sweets, playing games, dressing up and celebrating together.

The unusual scene initially appears playful, with the reason behind the family’s behaviour gradually revealed. By reversing the roles, the film invites viewers to imagine Diwali from a pet’s perspective and consider how fireworks can make the celebrations stressful for animals.

Rather than relying on emotional appeals or guilt-driven messaging, the campaign uses absurdity and humour to draw attention to an issue often overlooked during festivities.

Krutika Lal, head of brand marketing at Supertails, said the campaign was designed to address everyday experiences that pet parents notice but rarely discuss. She added that humour can help purpose-led communication capture attention and make its message more memorable.

With ‘No Bang Diwali’, Supertails aims to encourage households to think about how their celebrations affect animals. The campaign extends the conversation beyond pet owners, using a relatable festive setting to promote greater awareness of pets’ sensitivity to noise and the importance of more considerate celebrations.
