vivo India has released its Diwali campaign, #JoyOfHomecoming, created in collaboration with Dentsu Creative-Webchutney. The film follows Kabir, a young man living in Dubai who cannot travel home for the festival, until a small reminder of a cherished ritual changes his plans.
On Choti Diwali, Kabir’s childhood friends visit his mother and organise a festive celebration for her. While watching the gathering, Kabir notices an unlit diya, the same one he and his mother traditionally light together. The moment prompts him to return home and celebrate Diwali with her. The film explores how family rituals retain their meaning even as people move away and celebrations evolve, while also giving friendship a role in keeping loved ones connected.
Geetaj Channana, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, vivo India, said, “As young people pursue their aspirations and build lives away from home, family traditions continue to draw them back to the people they love.” He added that the campaign, aligned with the brand’s “Live the Joy” philosophy, hopes to inspire people to cherish the relationships and moments of togetherness that make festivals special.
Surjo Dutt, CEO and Chief Creative Officer, Dentsu Creative-Webchutney, noted that in a world where ambition can take people far from home, being connected and being together are not always the same. He said the story reminds audiences that technology can do more than capture moments; it can bring people closer to the emotions that matter most.
