Meesho is doubling down on creator-led commerce, with its Content Commerce business delivering strong growth in the first quarter of FY27. The ecommerce platform reported a 141% year-on-year increase in Content Commerce Net Merchandise Value (NMV), highlighting the growing influence of creators in driving product discovery and purchases.
The company also revealed that the number of active order-generating content pieces rose 143% to 1.7 million, reflecting rising engagement with creator-generated content across the platform.
According to Meesho, the growth has been fuelled by a suite of AI-powered creator tools designed to simplify onboarding, improve content discovery and help creators generate higher revenues. The platform’s AI toolkit offers insights into content performance, recommends high-converting products and identifies top-performing SKUs, enabling creators to produce content that is more likely to drive sales.
The performance underscores Meesho’s broader strategy of positioning content as a key commerce engine rather than just a marketing channel.
Beyond creator commerce, Meesho’s overall marketplace also posted healthy growth. Marketplace NMV climbed 34% year-on-year to ₹11,614 crore, supported by stronger customer engagement, expanding product categories and contributions from both Meesho Mall and Content Commerce. The company also credited its AI-powered recommendation engine, PRISM, for improving product discovery and personalisation.
AI is playing an increasingly central role across Meesho’s ecosystem. In addition to creator tools, the company has deployed AI across software development, product cataloguing, demand forecasting and multilingual seller support, helping improve productivity and business efficiency.
As competition in ecommerce intensifies, Meesho is betting that AI-driven creator commerce will become a key differentiator, enabling creators, sellers and shoppers to connect through more engaging and personalised shopping experiences.
