In a clever piece of out-of-home creativity timed to Krishna Janmashtami, Amul Masti Dahi and Flipkart Minutes have teamed up on a billboard that literally climbs off the frame and onto the street.
Titled “Maakhanchor Bane MaStikhoR,” the campaign puns on Lord Krishna’s famous nickname – Maakhanchor, or butter thief – fusing it with Amul’s “Masti” curd branding to create a festive, tongue-in-cheek mashup.
The real hook, though, is the execution. The billboard extends a traditional Dahi Handi scene – the human pyramid of Govindas reaching for a hanging pot of curd – into a 3D layered cutout that runs vertically down the hoarding’s support pillar. The topmost child in the pyramid stretches beyond the screen’s edge, visually reaching up toward the matki depicted in the ad, turning a flat billboard into a dimensional, street-level spectacle that plays directly into the ritual it’s referencing.
Anchoring the creative is the line “Delivered on Flipkart Minutes,” tying the mythological callback straight back to commerce – positioning quick commerce as the modern-day shortcut to festive indulgence, no pyramid-climbing required.
The execution taps into a format brands increasingly favour during festive season: OOH that breaks the boundary of the hoarding itself, using physical extensions and 3D elements to earn organic social pickup and on-ground double-takes, rather than relying solely on message recall. Blending mythology, product wit and quick-commerce urgency, the billboard is a sharp example of festive marketing built for both the street and the scroll.
