Birla Studios has partnered with Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) to launch ‘Reel Se Real Star’, a mobile-first platform aimed at transforming how acting talent is discovered in India.
Designed as a digital-first talent initiative, the platform enables aspiring actors to submit audition videos directly through mobile and web interfaces, removing the need for industry connections or physical access to casting calls. By addressing long-standing barriers such as geography and limited access, the initiative seeks to create a more inclusive entry point into the entertainment industry.
Participants from across the country can upload their auditions, which will be reviewed by filmmakers and industry professionals. Selected candidates will move through a structured evaluation process, with final winners receiving an opportunity to feature in a film project.
According to Ananya Birla, founder and chairperson of Birla Studios, the platform is built on the belief that talent often goes unnoticed due to lack of access. With the scale of digital infrastructure and Vi’s nationwide reach, the initiative aims to unlock opportunities for aspiring performers regardless of their location or background.
Abhijit Kishore added that the collaboration leverages Vi’s network and digital reach of over 200 million users to bring auditions directly into the hands of millions, making talent discovery more accessible.
The platform is expected to go live on the Vi app in the coming months, with registrations currently open.
