Google has launched Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new AI model built for software coding and automated business workflows, as competition over enterprise agents and developer tools intensifies among Big Tech and AI companies. The model is positioned as a lower-cost option for businesses building autonomous AI systems capable of planning tasks, using software tools and executing multi-step workflows with limited human oversight.
Google says Gemini 3.7 Flash improves on its predecessor in coding-related tasks such as debugging, resolving software issues and generating production-ready code. The release comes just three weeks after Gemini 3.6 Flash, underscoring the pace at which Google is iterating its AI models.
To encourage adoption, the company is offering an introductory price of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through the end of 2026 – half the original cost of Gemini 3.6 Flash. The model is also rolling out immediately to Gemini Spark, Google’s subscription-based AI agent service, available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in more than 160 countries.
The launch comes as Google looks to strengthen its position against rivals including OpenAI and Anthropic, particularly in AI coding and agentic applications. Investors have also been watching for Google’s more powerful Gemini 3.5 Pro model, which the company said in July was being tested with partners and would arrive “soon,” though no release date has been given.
The rollout follows a period of internal change at Google DeepMind, including a leadership overhaul and the departure of two of Gemini’s original technical co-leads to start a new venture. For Google, Gemini 3.7 Flash marks a broader push beyond consumer chatbots toward AI systems built to work on behalf of users and businesses.
