Built using ChatGPT, the Conversational Voice Discovery (CVD) feature replaces traditional keyword-based search with a more intuitive, intent-driven experience.
With CVD, users can simply speak or type natural prompts based on their mood, preferences, or context-such as asking for “light-hearted shows for the evening” or “thrilling matches to watch live.” The system then interprets the request and delivers personalised recommendations, making discovery faster and more engaging.
A key highlight of the feature is its bilingual capability. Users can seamlessly switch between Hindi and English without compromising the quality of results, making the platform more accessible to India’s diverse audience base.
Beyond entertainment browsing, the feature also enhances live sports viewing. Users can interact with the platform in real time during matches-asking questions, seeking updates, or exploring related content-without interrupting their viewing experience.
The integration extends beyond the app itself. Users of ChatGPT can also receive curated recommendations from JioHotstar’s catalogue, creating a two-way discovery ecosystem.
