Meesho has acquired Kirana Club, a community-driven B2B commerce platform serving kirana retailers, in a deal valued at approximately ₹202 crore. The acquisition marks a significant step in Meesho’s efforts to deepen its presence in India’s retail and small-business ecosystem.
Founded in 2020 by Anshul Gupta and Aishwarya Jain, Kirana Club operates a mobile-first marketplace that helps neighbourhood retailers discover, compare and purchase FMCG and grocery products. The platform claims to have built a network of over 4.1 million registered retailers across the country.
As part of the transaction, existing investors in Kirana Club will make a complete exit, while the company’s leadership team will continue to run the business. Kirana Club will operate independently within the Meesho ecosystem, ensuring continuity for its retailer community and partners.
Commenting on the acquisition, Vidit Aatrey, chairman, managing director and CEO of Meesho, said the partnership aligns with the company’s vision of using technology to create opportunities for underserved users. He noted that Kirana Club’s community-led and asset-light model has earned strong trust among small retailers, creating opportunities to improve access, product discovery and transparency across India’s retail landscape.
Anshul Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Kirana Club, said the platform was built to provide small retailers with the same efficiencies and access enjoyed by modern trade. He added that Meesho’s deep understanding of Bharat and its focus on technology-driven inclusion make it a strong partner for the next phase of growth.
The acquisition is expected to enhance digital commerce solutions for kirana stores while expanding Meesho’s reach across India’s rapidly evolving B2B retail sector.
