MG Motor Steps In as Title Sponsor as the ISL Enters a New Club-Led Era

The Indian Super League has named JSW MG Motor India its title sponsor for the 2026-27 season, bringing back a title sponsor after a gap of three seasons. The competition will now be known as the MG Indian Super League.

The announcement arrives at a key moment for the league, which begins on October 10 and enters a new club-led commercial era. The season will return to a full home-and-away format, with clubs travelling across the country. The opening day features Bengaluru FC hosting Sporting Club Delhi at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, while FC Goa take on Chennaiyin FC at the Fatorda Stadium.

ISL CEO Karan Yadav called the return of a title sponsor a significant milestone and a reflection of the belief in Indian football. He said the league aims to become stronger, more commercially sustainable and more fan-focused. Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer at JSW MG Motor India, said the company has always believed in sport’s power to bring people together and inspire young minds. He described the ISL tie-up as a natural step that takes MG’s football engagement to a national platform, with plans to create memorable fan experiences.

MG’s football journey includes being Liverpool FC’s Official Global Car Partner, a multi-year partnership with Arsenal, and support for the Patan Girls, a grassroots team from Gujarat, with infrastructure and community-development help. Beyond football, the brand has backed women in sport through partnerships with golfer Tvesa Malik, Paralympic medallist Bhavina Patel and awardee Deepa Malik.
