Nike is launching Vegam Run, its first running shoe built specifically for India, on November 1. Priced at Rs 3,795, the shoe is designed for both running and everyday movement, positioned as an easy entry point for anyone starting their running journey.
The brand developed the shoe using insights from runners across the country on how they run, train and move through daily life. The result combines cushioning, breathability and durability, with an engineered mesh upper, Full-Length Foam and a textured rubber outsole. Perimeter rubber adds durability, while pull tabs make the shoe easier to slip on. Colourways draw inspiration from India, including an After Dark Tour edition tied to the Mumbai stop in December.
Deepa Ramprasad, senior director of Nike Road Running Footwear, said the aim was to honour the voice of the Indian runner and build what they need. Tarundeep Singh, general manager of Nike India, added that running in India is gaining energy, driven by a new generation that embraces movement in personal, expressive and community-led ways. He described Vegam Run as an invitation to athletes, from first-time runners to lifelong ones.
Speed marked the process too. Nike says the shoe went from design brief to confirmed product in 55 days and from concept to launch in about five months. Vegam Run will be available from November 1 on Flipkart and select retail locations, followed by wider distribution across Nike’s Indian partners in spring 2027, with more international markets planned for 2027.
