OpenAI has launched a festive campaign for ChatGPT featuring Neer and Leher, two Hindi voices introduced with GPT-Live-1.1. The stories centre on family life and everyday aspirations in India, with the voices woven directly into the narrative rather than added as a product feature.
The first film, ‘The Notice’, follows the extended Kumar family after a property developer claims their ancestral house and farmland. As the family works to challenge the claim, they turn to ChatGPT for help. Neer and Leher feature in the characters’ conversations with the AI, making the Hindi voice experience part of the story. The campaign also explores how the technology can serve different needs within a family and its local economy.
Sheeladitya Mohanty, head of marketing – India, OpenAI, said the aim is for AI to be useful in everyday life for people across India, whatever their language, age or line of work. He said Neer and Leher bring natural Indian voices to ChatGPT, and that building for India means making the product easy to use and suited to how people here speak, live and work.
The campaign will continue through the festive season with more films following members of the Kumar family as they chase individual goals. Each will show a different way ChatGPT can fit into daily life, from family decisions to work and personal ambitions.
