Procter & Gamble has announced plans to acquire Thorne, a US-based wellness and supplements company known for its science-backed nutrition products, marking a fresh push into personalised preventive healthcare.
The acquisition strengthens P&G Health Care’s presence in the fast-growing wellness market, where consumers are increasingly seeking tailored solutions for nutrition, self-care and overall well-being. Thorne has built its reputation on dietary supplements, health testing and personalised wellness recommendations, with a strong following among consumers, healthcare practitioners and professional sports organisations, driven by its emphasis on research and scientific validation.
Paul Gama, CEO, Health Care at P&G, said the deal reflects shifting consumer preferences, noting that Thorne has built a highly trusted brand at the forefront of personalised health. He added that the partnership offers an opportunity to bring Thorne’s science-backed solutions to a wider audience while preserving the quality and credibility that have defined the brand.
P&G said the acquisition will help it meet rising demand for prevention-focused, everyday health management products, as consumers increasingly turn to trusted, practitioner-recommended brands amid growing interest in proactive healthcare. For Thorne, the deal opens access to P&G’s global distribution, research and marketing infrastructure, positioning it to scale well beyond its existing customer base.
The move comes as consumer goods and healthcare majors ramp up investment in wellness categories, fuelled by rising health awareness, ageing populations and growing demand for personalised care. Thorne joins P&G’s existing healthcare portfolio spanning oral care, respiratory and digestive health. The deal is expected to close later in 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
