Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of India TV, has been unanimously re-elected President of the News Broadcasters and Digital Association (NBDA) for 2026-27, following a meeting of the board of directors. The board reaffirmed its full confidence in Sharma’s continued leadership of the apex body.
NBDA currently represents 29 leading news and current affairs broadcasters, encompassing 130 news channels and digital platforms as members.
The re-election came shortly after NBDA’s 19th Annual General Meeting, where the association also welcomed Jayant Mammen Mathew, representing MM TV, as a new addition to the board.
At the same meeting, Rachna Burman, Director – Public Policy & Content Assurance at The Times Group, and Kshipra Jatana, Group General Counsel at Network18 Media & Investments, were confirmed as permanent directors of NBDA.
The NBDA Board also includes M.V. Shreyams Kumar, Managing Director of Mathrubhumi Printing & Publishing Co.; Anuradha Prasad Shukla, Chairperson and Managing Director of News24 Broadcast India; Kalli Purie Bhandal, Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director of TV Today Network; Anil Kumar Malhotra, Advisor at Zee Media Corporation; Dhruba Mukherjee, Director at ABP Network; Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of New Delhi Television; and Mahesh Kumar Rajaraman, Managing Director of Sun TV Network.
Sharma’s continued presidency signals stability in NBDA’s leadership as the association navigates an evolving news broadcasting and digital media landscape, with an expanded board reflecting representation across major networks.
