Vadilal Industries has partnered with Parle Products to launch Melody Ice Cream, marking the iconic confectionery brand’s entry into the ice cream category through a trademark licensing agreement.
The collaboration brings together two well-established consumer brands, combining Parle’s popular Melody candy with Vadilal’s expertise in the frozen desserts segment. The launch reflects a growing trend among FMCG companies to extend established brands into new categories and create fresh consumption occasions for consumers.
Inspired by the signature taste of the Melody confectionery, the new ice cream features a blend of caramel and chocolate flavours, translating the familiar candy experience into a frozen dessert format. The product also taps into the increasing popularity of nostalgia-driven offerings, where legacy brands are reimagined for contemporary consumers.
For Parle, the move represents an opportunity to expand the reach of one of its most recognised confectionery brands beyond its traditional category. For Vadilal, the partnership adds a well-known consumer brand to its product portfolio while strengthening its presence in the premium and novelty ice cream segment.
The launch is being supported by an integrated marketing campaign spanning digital platforms, social media, creator-led content, and on-ground activations aimed at driving awareness and trial.
Melody Ice Cream is currently available through Vadilal parlours and will be gradually expanded across general trade outlets, modern retail stores, and quick-commerce platforms in multiple markets.
The partnership highlights how established brands are increasingly leveraging licensing arrangements and cross-category innovation to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving consumer landscape. By bringing together familiarity, flavour, and innovation, Vadilal and Parle are seeking to create a new experience around one of India’s most enduring confectionery brands.
