Zee Entertainment Enterprises (Z) has strengthened its sports portfolio by securing the exclusive broadcast and digital rights for Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and the Maldives. The landmark five-year agreement begins on August 22, 2026, giving football fans in the region a new destination for Italian football.
Under the deal, live matches, highlights, and football-related programming will be available on Zee5 and Unite8 Sports channels. The acquisition significantly expands Z’s football offerings, complementing its existing portfolio, which already includes FIFA tournaments and the Bundesliga.
Commenting on the partnership, Bavesh Janavlekar, Chief Business Officer – Unite8 Sports, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, said the company is committed to building a stronger football ecosystem in India by bringing premium international competitions to local audiences. He noted that Serie A’s rich legacy, iconic clubs, and world-class talent make it one of the most celebrated football leagues globally, and the addition reinforces Z’s ambition to become the go-to destination for global football.
Beyond enhancing the viewing experience, the partnership also opens new opportunities for fan engagement, advertisers, and sports-focused brand collaborations. As football’s popularity continues to rise across South Asia, the acquisition positions Z to capitalise on growing demand for premium sports content.
With Serie A now joining FIFA and the Bundesliga under its umbrella, Z is making a strong play to become one of the region’s leading sports entertainment platforms.
