Britannia doubles down on regional marketing as e-commerce fuels Q1 growth

Britannia Industries is strengthening its regional marketing strategy while expanding its e-commerce presence, as the FMCG major reported a 14.1% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 2026. The company credited higher investments in advertising, influencer collaborations and promotions for driving healthy volume and value growth despite rising fuel and freight costs.

The company’s strategy centres on what it calls “Winning in Many Indias”-a localised marketing approach designed to build deeper consumer connections across diverse regional markets.

Speaking about the strategy, Rakshit Hargave, CEO and Managing Director of Britannia Industries, said the company continues to strengthen brand visibility through a combination of large-scale national campaigns and culturally relevant regional initiatives. He highlighted the Milk Bikis Thirukkural campaign in Tamil Nadu as an example of how local storytelling has helped enhance consumer engagement.

Alongside its regional efforts, Britannia also rolled out nationwide campaigns for brands including Marie Gold, NutriChoice and Little Hearts, balancing mass-market visibility with local relevance.

The company identified “Winning in Many Indias” as one of its five key strategic priorities, alongside brand building, innovation, operational efficiency and sustainability.

Britannia also reported strong momentum in its e-commerce business, which emerged as a key growth driver during the quarter. Robust performance in general trade, combined with increased investments in digital marketing, influencers and promotional activities, helped offset the impact of higher logistics costs resulting from geopolitical tensions.

Looking ahead, Britannia said it will continue investing in innovation, regional marketing, digital commerce and operational efficiencies while closely monitoring crude oil prices and global geopolitical developments to sustain long-term growth.
