Flipkart has launched a standalone beta app for its quick-commerce business, Minutes, as the company scales the service and expands its presence across India’s increasingly competitive quick-commerce market. The app is currently live on Google Play but available only to a limited set of users, with its availability verified in select pockets of Delhi NCR. Minutes offers groceries, fruits, gourmet products, kitchen staples and other daily essentials, along with zero platform fees and free delivery on orders above ₹99.
The standalone launch comes as Minutes has seen a sharp rise in order volumes, scaling from roughly 390,000-400,000 daily orders in November 2025 to 1.1-1.2 million currently, according to media reports. As of June, Minutes had 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres across 130 cities, with plans to expand to 1,500 centres across 180 cities; UBS estimates the network could grow to around 2,000 stores by mid-2027.
The standalone app gives Minutes a dedicated interface at a time when Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart are all expanding dark-store networks, delivery capacity and product range. UBS estimates Minutes’ dark stores process 800-1,500 orders daily depending on maturity, with metro cities contributing 60-65% of demand, though gross margins remain below Blinkit’s.
The rollout also follows Bernstein data showing Flipkart’s monthly active users grew 15% year-on-year in July 2026, up from 3% growth in the previous fiscal year’s fourth quarter.
The app arrives alongside Flipkart’s Eat In food-delivery pilot among Bengaluru employees, expected to expand company-wide by September 15 ahead of a consumer launch, with Minutes likely handling its fulfilment.
