Walkaroo has launched a new campaign featuring brand ambassador Varun Dhawan, anchored around the brand’s philosophy – “When you don’t know what to do, Walk. Walk. Walkaroo.”
Set against the backdrop of a neighbourhood talent show, the film opens with the warm, familiar energy of a local community gathering. The tone shifts when a contestant freezes mid-performance, gripped by stage fright and unsure how to recover. Before the awkward silence can settle in, Dhawan steps onto the stage and flips the moment into an energetic, crowd-pleasing sequence.
The campaign leans on relatable, everyday storytelling – using a hyperlocal setting to make the brand feel community-rooted rather than distant or aspirational. The stage-fright premise works well as a narrative hook, giving the film a clear emotional beat to build from.
Where it falls short, however, is the payoff: the connection back to Walkaroo’s footwear doesn’t land as organically as the setup promises. Rather than the brand thought driving the resolution forward, it feels stitched on – a device inserted into the story rather than one that emerges naturally from it.
Overall, the campaign captures an appealing slice-of-life tone and benefits from Dhawan’s easy screen presence, but the creative execution stops short of fully connecting the emotional trigger (stage fright) with the brand’s core message (“What To Do?”) in a way that feels seamless rather than convenient.
