In a world obsessed with metrics, Project Nanhi Kali is choosing to tell a different story-one that can’t be measured on a spreadsheet. Its latest film, Power of One, shifts the spotlight from scale to something far more personal: the transformation of a single life.
Conceptualised by Ogilvy India, the film captures subtle yet powerful moments-a girl finding her voice, building self-worth, and slowly reshaping how her family and community perceive her aspirations. These are changes that don’t show up in data charts, yet carry lasting impact.
For over three decades, Nanhi Kali has supported close to a million girls across India. But the film argues that the real success of the programme lies not just in these numbers, but in the individual journeys behind them. Each girl represents a ripple-of confidence, opportunity, and change that extends beyond her own life.
An initiative of the K. C. Mahindra Education Trust, and jointly managed with the Naandi Foundation, Nanhi Kali has evolved into a holistic education programme. Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, it now integrates life skills, digital literacy, financial awareness, and sports leadership into its curriculum.
Power of One ultimately reframes impact-not as a number to be scaled, but as a story to be felt. Because when one girl rises, the effect travels far beyond what any statistic can capture.
