Hyundai Motor India has officially revealed the name of its much-awaited new SUV for the Indian market – Hyundai BAYON – kicking off the next phase of its product launch narrative.
The name reveal comes ahead of further details expected in the coming weeks, with Hyundai positioning BAYON as a technology-led SUV designed for a new generation of Indian consumers.
The upcoming model brings together Hyundai’s global design philosophy with technology, intelligent mobility and a focus on intuitive customer experiences. The company says BAYON has been developed for an evolving India, with an emphasis on making technology more seamless and meaningful in everyday driving.
Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, described BAYON as more than another addition to the company’s growing SUV portfolio, calling it a “new mindset” centred on intelligent and effortless experiences.
Hyundai has yet to announce the SUV’s specifications, pricing and other key product details.
The name BAYON draws inspiration from Bayonne, a city in France’s Basque Country, reflecting the dynamic character and global design thinking Hyundai wants the new SUV to represent.
The name announcement is supported by a futuristic reveal film built around technology and imagination. Its narrative brings together intelligent elements to form the BAYON identity, culminating in the central thought “Intelligence ON.”
The reveal marks the opening chapter of Hyundai’s larger BAYON launch story in India.
