NIVIA Sports has unveiled the new Official Indian National Football Team Jersey, backed by a campaign that positions it as more than matchwear. The idea is that Indian football can extend beyond the pitch, so the jersey is designed to work as performance wear, everyday apparel and a collectible.
Designed and developed in India, the jersey blends contemporary design with elements of the country’s cultural identity. It carries a woven peacock silhouette inspired by the national bird, the Ashoka Chakra below the back collar and the words ‘Vande Mataram’ inside the neckline.
Dhruv Kharabanda, executive director, NIVIA Sports, said a national team jersey can become a gateway to a sport and a way for people to build a personal connection with it. He pointed to India’s strong jersey culture around cricket and said the brand saw an opportunity to bring the same connection to football. Rooted in NIVIA’s philosophy of products made and designed in India, by Indians, the jersey aims to make the sport feel more accessible to a new generation of supporters and encourage greater participation. He added that it is another step under the brand’s ‘Next is Now’ philosophy.
On performance, the jersey uses jacquard construction, mesh panels, moisture-wicking quick-dry technology and stretch fabric. It also has an anti-odour finish, UV protection and fade-resistant sublimation printing.
Priced at Rs 3,499, the jersey is available through NIVIA Sports retail stores and authorised partners across India.
