Sunil Grover Plays the Boss Fighting Cricket Fever in New Sony LIV Campaign

Sony LIV has rolled out a new campaign, ‘Har Screen Par Cricket, Sony Ke Saath’, featuring actor Sunil Grover in a comic take on the age-old office battle between work and cricket.

In the film, Grover plays a corporate boss who calls an urgent meeting to warn employees about what he considers the biggest threat to the company over the next four months – India’s jam-packed cricket calendar. The campaign leans into this everyday conflict between work commitments and cricket obsession.

That calendar includes India’s tour of Sri Lanka starting August 15, the DP World Women’s Asia Cup 2026 (featuring the India-Pakistan clash on September 5), cricket at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 from September 17, and India’s tour of New Zealand from October 22.

Prashant Iyer, Head – Marketing, Sony LIV, said the next four months will see cricket competing with meetings, deadlines and spreadsheets for attention, which became the starting point for the campaign. He added that Sunil Grover was the natural choice to play an intimidating yet funny boss, and that despite his character’s efforts to keep cricket out of the office, fans will find it everywhere – on Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV.

Sunil Grover said the next four months are set to be a dream run for cricket fans, with four major events lined up across formats and tours, and that he’s looking forward to fans catching all the action on TV or streaming it live on Sony LIV.

The campaign will run alongside Sony’s cricket coverage through the upcoming season.
