Warner Music India Joins Hands With SVF Entertainment to Expand Bengali Music Footprint

Warner Music India has announced a strategic partnership with Kolkata-based SVF Entertainment to strengthen its presence in the Bengali music industry. The collaboration will see the two companies work together to distribute Bengali artists, film soundtracks, and original music through Warner’s global network, marking a significant expansion of the label’s regional portfolio.

SVF Entertainment brings over three decades of experience in Bengali film, television, and music to the partnership. The company has produced upwards of 180 Bengali films and distributed more than 1,400 films across various languages, building a diverse catalogue that spans film soundtracks and independent music releases.

Jay Mehta, managing director of Recorded Music and Publishing for India and SAARC at Warner Music India, described Bengal as a wellspring of enduring cultural movements and called SVF an ideal partner given its role in shaping that legacy. He noted that the alliance strengthens Warner’s footprint in Eastern India while opening a global pathway for Bengali artists and stories.

Mahendra Soni, co-founder and director of SVF Entertainment, said the partnership offers a chance to introduce Bengali music to wider audiences as listeners increasingly explore regional sounds beyond linguistic and geographic boundaries, while continuing to support the creative community behind the music.

With this addition, Bengali music now joins South Indian, Punjabi, Haryanvi, and Bhojpuri in Warner Music India’s growing regional music portfolio, reinforcing the label’s broader push to take India’s diverse linguistic music traditions to listeners worldwide.
