Xiaomi India has officially launched Mijia, its global home and lifestyle brand, marking a key move in the company’s push to expand beyond smartphones and consumer electronics. The launch coincides with Xiaomi completing 12 years in India and signals its growing ambitions in the connected home and appliances space.
Going forward, all of Xiaomi’s upcoming home and lifestyle products in India will carry the “Mijia by Xiaomi” branding. Mijia is already a well-established name in China, where its portfolio spans refrigerators, air conditioners, smart glasses, projectors, and other connected devices.
In India, Xiaomi currently offers products like air purifiers, robotic vacuum cleaners, and security cameras. By consolidating these under the Mijia identity, the company aims to give its smart home ecosystem a single, recognisable brand – making it simpler for consumers to explore and adopt its range of products.
The move ties into Xiaomi’s broader “Human × Car × Home” strategy, which focuses on connecting personal devices, vehicles, and household products through one unified platform. While no specific launch timeline has been shared, executive signals suggest a bigger push into large appliances – including air conditioners and refrigerators – is on the horizon.
This expansion sets Xiaomi up for more direct competition with established players like Samsung, LG, and Haier in India’s home appliances market. Future Mijia products will roll out through Xiaomi’s existing online and offline channels, including its retail stores and major electronics partners.
With Mijia, Xiaomi is positioning itself as a broader consumer tech company – one where smart, connected home products play a central role in its next phase of growth in India.
