PUMA, in collaboration with HYROX, brought its global fitness race format to Bengaluru, further expanding its footprint in India. The event saw participation from badminton star PV Sindhu, while cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur attended to support and cheer.
Sindhu competed in the HYROX mixed relay format, which combines eight 1 km runs with eight functional workout stations like sled push and rowing. Unlike traditional sports, the format focuses on individual endurance, strength, and time-based performance, offering a new kind of competitive challenge.
Sharing her experience, Sindhu highlighted how HYROX pushed her beyond her comfort zone, replacing on-court opponents with a test against time and physical limits. Harmanpreet Kaur, observing from the sidelines, noted how such formats challenge athletes in ways their primary sports may not, adding that she would be keen to participate in the future.
The Bengaluru event recorded over 8,200 participants, reflecting a sharp rise in interest for participative fitness formats. Previous editions in Mumbai and Delhi had already attracted over 7,000 participants combined, indicating strong momentum for HYROX in India since its entry in 2025.
According to PUMA India, the partnership aligns with its vision of promoting participative sports culture. With reported growth of over 160% in participation, the brand aims to further scale HYROX by blending global fitness trends with local sporting enthusiasm.
As HYROX continues to expand across Indian cities, the collaboration signals a shift where fitness is no longer just about training-but about competing, community, and culture.
