Spinny, the full-stack used-car retailing platform, has launched a new film featuring Indian footballer Ryan Williams under its #MySpinnyStory series. The film traces Williams’ journey from Australia to India, his reconnection with his family’s Indian roots, and his experience settling into life in Bengaluru while building his football career.
Born in Australia to a family with roots in India, Williams returned to the country three years ago, joining Bengaluru FC before going on to represent the Indian National Team. His association with Spinny began in November 2024, when he was simply looking for a reliable car to navigate everyday life in a new city – a search that led him to his Swift, and eventually made Spinny part of his Bengaluru story.
For Williams, the move to India carried deeper meaning beyond football. His family had left India generations ago, moving first to the UK and then Australia, making his return feel like a personal full-circle moment. He recalls his grandfather’s long-held wish to see him play football in India – a wish he exceeded by earning a spot on the national team, an honour he describes as representing 1.4 billion people every time he steps onto the pitch.
Beyond football, Bengaluru has become home for Williams, who speaks warmly of its relaxed pace, food and weather. His #MySpinnyStory ties together these threads – family roots, national pride, and the everyday journey of settling into a new city, wheels included.
